Religion

The Mesopotamians practiced rituals designed to keep the gods comfortable in return for good luck. In order to do this they made offerings in a temple dedicated to each particular god. They believed that if the gods were not pleased with their service, humankind would suffer evils such as plagues and earthquakes. Mesopotamians worshiped 100’s of gods and goddesses every day and each city had its own special god to watch over the city and so did each profession like builders and fishermen. They also believed in demons created by the gods, which could be good or evil.
